The Music of Daniel Messer
I started making music when I was kid. Some people have a pivotal change in their life when they’re in their teens, a change where they know that everything is different and they gained some insight on who they are and what they want to do. I had my first when I was five years old. I was sitting on the floor of my parents’ living room, watching a show called Cosmos, hosted by a gentle scientist named Carl Sagan. Cosmos exposed me to the wonders of space and astronomy, something I still have a deep affection for today.
Beyond that, the show introduced me to the music of Vangelis. From that point on, I wanted to make music.
So a beautiful and talented woman named Bev taught me how to play piano. In high school, a good friend of mine called Paul taught me how to play drums. Along the way, I also taught myself to play congas and, if you hold a gun to my head, I can play bass guitar too.
Over the years, I’ve recorded a few albums which included covers of songs I really like and my own work. I’d love to share some of that music with you here. Hopefully, this collection keeps growing as there are more and more tunes I want to record.
Enjoy.
Note: All songs are written by me unless otherwise noted.
